Grants Available for Small Businesses in January 2021

There are several grants available to support small businesses affected by COVID-19. Check out the following options below, and pay close attention to the dates–some application rounds close in early January!

DO YOU NEED FREE MONEY TO STAY AFLOAT? Could you use up to $25,000 in government aid for your business? APPLY BY JANUARY 8! The State of California recently announced a package of assistance for small businesses and non-profits impacted by COVID-19, including $500 million in grants. Grants range from $5,000 to $25,000. Applications for Round 1 will be accepted Wednesday, 12/30/20 through Friday, 01/8/21. Businesses are eligible based on their annual revenue, as documented in their most recent tax return. Visit www.CAReliefGrant.com/) to review your eligibility and prepare your business documents. Applications for Round 2 will be determined on availability of funds and will be announced in the near future. Lendistry has been designated by the state to act as the intermediary for the Program to disburse the grant funds.

The Program will prioritize distribution based on priority key factors, including the following:

  1. Geographic distribution based on COVID-19 health and safety restrictions following California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy, county status and the new Regional Stay At Home Order which can be found at https://covid19.ca.gov/safer-economy/

  2. Industry sectors most impacted by the pandemic

  3. Underserved small business groups served by the State supported network of small business centers (i.e., businesses majority owned and run on a daily basis by women, minorities/persons of color, veterans and businesses located in low-to-moderate income and rural communities)

Are you a California exporter in need of COVID relief funds?

On November 10, the California STEP grant program opened the application window for the Individual Company Export Program (ICEP) grants. The ICEP program is a sub-program of California STEP. The ICEP program is designed to reimburse eligible California small businesses up to $5,000 USD for eligible export promotion related expenses. As this is a competitive application, not all applications will be funded. Reimbursement awards will be granted on the availability of funds, the status of the company with respect to STEP (new STEP users will be prioritized), the number of applications submitted and the merits of each application. The ICEP program will reimburse eligible California small businesses up to a maximum per company of $5,000 USD, per program funding year.  ICEP Application Period: November 10, 2020 until all funds have been committed.  Approved activities must be completed between September 30, 2020 and September 29, 2021.  For more information visit: https://lnkd.in/gqhkqk5
